The range of OCAP products destined to the trucks and buses market can be divided into two main families: components for the suspension system and components for the steering system. What is in most cases common to both families is the presence on the various components of one or more ball joints either integrated or non.
OCAP core business is indeed the design and production of ball joints in compliance with the technical specifications of the single manufacturers of trucks and buses or with internationally recognized norms. In particular, with reference to this specific sector and to the application type, the solutions developed by OCAP require the use of joints with spheres whose diameter varies from 27 to 90 mm using bearings realized in plastic, steel, self-lubricating and heterogeneous material.
OCAP designs and produces fixed and adjustable tie rods, straight or bent , transversal or longitudinal, realized with tube or bar connection elements and the different components of linkages, which allow the mechanical connection between the steering box and the steering wheels of the vehicle, mounted on rigid axles or independent suspensions. The wide range of tie rods includes parts equipped with ball joints and with elastic rubber joints, usually referred to as silentblock.
OCAP designs and produces hot-forged steel track control arms and molten cast iron arms equipped with ball joints which allow the connection to the wheel hub carrier and with silentblocks, which ensure the connection to the vehicle chassis. The range of components studied for the suspension system is completed by longitudinal and transversal torque rods and by V link made in cast iron or tube and forged housings, equipped with ball joints and silentblocks that connect the axles to the vehicle chassis.
